Any being, on any world, can wish on a falling star. Some of them can, and will, be enveloped by Mist, and upon walking through it, find themselves at a Starlit Observatory.

Walking through the front door they're greeted by ancient starcharts, divination equipment, and celestial accents.

On some of the walls, the newly minted Starcatcher, will see what looks to be dolls of all shapes, sizes, and characteristics, but with notable pointed ears like elves.

They're approached by Aurora who welcome them with a cup of tea and an explanation.
"So you wished on a falling star? Well, what if I told you I could make your wish come true?"

The Celestial Elf summons what looks to be a half rabbit, half cat animal, who drops an egg in her hand. It's translucent so that the Starcatcher can easily see a star inside.

Aurora hands them a book filled with different quests and adventures for them to choose from. Some of them have known items they can acquire, others are mysteries. Aurora explains that if they so wish, they can tweak their original desire to follow the desired quest.

Too tempting to pass up, after the Starcatcher decides, Aurora walks them through the Fallen Starling System process.

Adopting a Fallen Starling: a Guide

  • The Starcatcher picks a Fallen Starling doll
  • The fallen star is inserted and the doll is transformed, becoming animated and with ethereal celestial wings.
  • Aurora explains that this doll will keep the Starcatcher safe on their adventure/quest.
  • After the Fallen Starling is named, Aurora takes them to Polaris ( @WanderingWolf83 )and his Forge.
  • Fallen Starling can wield one weapon, and Polaris takes into account the Fallen Starling, the Starcatcher, and the Quest.
  • Next, they go to Andromeda who holds all the maps available. She gives them a copy of the map they'll need for their adventure.
  • Aurora then gives the Starcatcher the option of having a guide or going on their own. If a guide is required, Marina (A Starling hired by Aurora and managed by Polaris and Andromeda) will help guide them and be their navigator.
  • the Starcatcher has 4 days between teleporting to the Observatory and when they'll be sent back home.
  • Aurora then takes them to a room of doors where different worlds and dimensions can be accessed via the Mists.
  • However, they must first get a key from Minastra, Moon Goddess of the very satellite the Starlit Observatory and Starling Academy was built on. They need this key in order to come back. It can be inserted in any door and they will return to the Observatory, but once the time is up, they may be stuck on that world.
  • MAJORITY don't get stuck, but are teleported back to the place they made the wish. It is as if no time has passed.
  • But if they do make it back, they know that that Aurora will make their star into a pendant so that they may return if they wish on the first star they see at night.
  • Starcatchers are then able to take their dolls back home with them, but will no longer be animated or "alive."
  • If a Starcatcher wishes on another falling star, there is 100% chance they'll be teleported back and able to:
a.) pick a different doll and go on a new quest b.) evolve their Fallen Starling into a full Starling who will act as a guardian and protector to them no matter where they are.
